Coyote - 2011 - Fall

Talk about Jetting into the Future! It is great to see that the South Dakota Jaycees with the support of all our local members and sponsors has expanded their advertising and publication to the net. This is the first issue of the Coyote that is only available on the internet. Our members spoke at planning session wanting to see this done and now we they have it. This year has flown by so fast and there are lots of changes within the organization that have happened so far. Thank you to our members for the wonderful ideas that have helped our organization.

We have had six months of membership growth so far this year. We celebrated being 75 and I look forward to helping celebrate our 100th year. As long as we keep growing and running the projects that help our communities and individuals I know that we will make it past 100. As most of you know that membership system is not live and run by nationals. This has made it easier for chapters to update their membership and get current rosters. Everyone also knows right away were their chapter stands number wise, they can also see the State stands as far as numbers go. With that said we need to be over 350 members in order to get off Status Alert stage as a state. Currently we 288 members and are down by 28 for the year. I challenge everyone from now till the end of the year to recruit just 1 member for
you chapter. If this would happen we would be back to 350 in no time at all. Everyone who recruits 1 member from now until the end of the year will be put into a drawing for a fabulous prize.

The state team has had a great time traveling to the chapters in the state for their many events. We helped with events such as Easter Egg Hunts, Haunted Houses, Parades, Looney Days, Pitch Hit and Run, and now Punt Pass and Kick. We are looking forward to helping with Snow Queen, Holiday gift for kids, Holiday shopping tour, State football challenge, and Ten Outstanding Young South Dakotans.  Please feel free to email any board member with your chapters plans for the rest of the year.
